To boost the germination of seeds

Vermiculite Granules soaked in Smoky Water.

Research at the famous Kings Park & Botanic Gardens in Perth (See Links on our Home page) has shown that smoke can provide a major boost to the germination of many Australian native plant seeds. Some seeds actually require the smoke from bushfires to trigger germination when the rains arrive.
See Smoke - Magic Ingredient in Germination.

Our granular Wildflower Seed Starter – containing smoke – is available in convenient 5-gram packets, with full instructions on the pack. We recommend Wildflower Seed Starter for most of our range of packaged seeds - and it will not harm other seeds.

Simple to use - convenient, effective and economical. A completely inert granular material soaked in smoky water absorbs an amount of the chemicals that naturally occur in smoke from the burning of bush materials.

Simply sprinkle it on top of the soil or potting mix after sowing the seeds. The first watering washes the smoke chemicals around the seeds to boost germination. Seed Starter can also help produce stronger seedlings and improve their survival after germination. In those cases where the seeds need to be soaked in hot water before sowing, a small amount of the granules can be added to the hot water and left to soak with the seeds to help trigger their germination.

How Much Seed Starter Should I Use?

Suitable for Use Outside Australia
Smoke treatment should help to condition the soil and assist the germination of Australian native plant seeds in other climates - given the right soil conditions and proper care from the grower.

(For resellers:  The product in this form as a small retail packet with sealed foil sachet to protect the granules is unique to our company and has sold extremely well since its introduction. Our reseller customers are very happy with its contribution to their sales.)
